We went up the Eiffel Tower on the most beautiful day of our trip. Jay got some great shots...
Very Bright! I thought my eyes were going to pop out! It didn't help that our photographer had...how can I say this...a very shiny head!
Can you see that in the distance? This is the Sacre Coeur...don't worry, we'll be going there soon.
The Eiffel Tower has three levels for viewing pleasure. We walked the stairs to the first two, and rode an elevator to the top. Some sights from the first two levels:
We stumbled across an art fair, just like you would expect from Paris.
We had to get a little treat...You would think there was a shortage of crepes coming to the world the way I ate them!
Here is the Basilica Sacre Couer, a Catholic cathedral and popular hang out spot from its amazing lookout over the city. We climbed to the top for a better view.
On the steps in front were some musicians who played mostly American songs (with thick French accents) to a large group of tourists and locals...and a man in a pink dress and hat.
We walked through the streets looking for somewhere to eat. All the restaurants were competing for patrons. We chose a Greek place that let me (try to) break a plate. It only barely cracked in half...how embarrassing! The food wasn't the best, but it was fun.
Sunday morning brought church...we got a little lost trying to find it, but once we got there they were so nice. They had translators during the main meeting for all the visitors.
While walking around before we left for our flight, we saw some of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
And that was the end...we flew to London and then to NYC. We had so much fun on this trip! To the lovely Paris we say "Nous serons arrières bientôt!"
PS--This is supposed to say, "We will be back soon," but another online translation said it was "We will be rear soon". Opps! No habla frances!
