Hats

We needed to buy a hat for Em (toque for our Northern audience), so we took some pictures to help decide.

And now, all these hats are gone in her size.  It is funny how when one cold day comes, everyone flocks to the stores and clears the shelves.  We are hoping there will be hats in Calgary as we are leaving for there soon.  At least those Canadians up there prepare for winter instead of letting it sneak up on them.

"What?!  Winter again?  We just had this last year!"

I Heart NY in the Fall

Just sharing some pictures from our favorite Central Park.

Emmi tried out a swing for the second time in her life, and I think she likes it.

Doesn't Fall make you want to jump in a pile of leaves and eat pumpkin pie?

Baby Ballerina

I know this is a little late, but Emmilene had a fun  first Halloween.

She wanted to stay up late the night before and help her dad carve the pumpkin, but she didn't like the squishy stuff.

Jay was going to go for scary, but he chose something sweet instead.
Any guesses as to who it is?

Meanwhile, I worked on sewing my first costume.  With a little advice from my mom and sister, the tutu turned out pretty good... as long as you didn't look too closely at the stitching.

Emmi was a little shy at first in being a ballerina, but she was very excited to go to the park and see her friends.

All her buddies (notice there is only one other girl).

Em and our friend Amy.

That night, we waited for dad to come home and then lit the pumpkin.

We walked to a street nearby that goes all out for Halloween.  There were decorations and candy and haunted houses and lots of costumes.  There was even a "Saloon" where a group of people sang all night to guests.  Emmilene's favorite was the giant falling spider, and the batman who actually climbed down a 5 story building.

You had to be a little aggressive to get the candy, and Emmilene just didn't have it in her.
She was just too tired.

But we will practice for next year!
