The Bullfight

Jay went to a Bullfight in Madrid at this stadium.  I was going to go with him, until I found out a bullfight is more than a man dressed in a Mickey Mouse hat waving a red cape.  So he went solo and took some nice shots.  Don't enlarge if you are very squeemish.

The stadium wasn't very full as it was the pre-season.  But Jay had very close seats right behind the Matadors.

Yo Soy Espanol!

Okay, just a couple more things from Spain...

We had the chance to go to a Spain vs Turkey World Cup Futbol Match. It was crazy!! It didn't start until 10 pm, and the thousands of fans were so hyped up. They were wearing flags and singing chants all over the city of Madrid.

One catchy chant I never got on film, "Yo Soy Espanol, Espanol, Espanol..."

So in case you are wondering, I will lose my mother-of-the-year status by taking my 9 month old to a soccer game so late at night and with a decibel level heard all the way in Turkey.

Pre-game fun.

We were pretty high up in the Stadium, but we were closer to the heaters up above! That is why I am so happy in this picture.

I guess I thought I would just get Emmilene to sleep at the beginning of the game and then sit and relax as I watched the rest. It was SO loud! I had no idea there would be so many people, so many screaming people...

But it was fun.

Spring Blossoms

Yeah!  It is finally Spring!  Well, actually it is cold and rainy and foggy today, but it was Spring a couple of days ago when we went on a walk in CP.

Emmilene was working on her disco moves.

Try to ignore the drool above.  She is getting tooth # 8.

The Alhambra

Granada's Alhambra is the most visited place in Spain, and we were glad to add to the numbers. It was the Palace and fortress of the Moorish leaders back in the 14th century set up on the hillside. These pictures don't show it well enough, but the details in the architecture are amazing.

The above is a ceiling... simply stunning.

Emmilene loved sharing her lunch with the birds... even when we ran out of bread.

I think I read the maze like walls below were actually baths for the soldiers.

Jay and Emmi peaking out with the Sierra Nevada Mountains behind

I got trapped by school-children and they were pushy!

Beaches and Cats

On our way up to Barcelona, we stopped at Stiges Beach, famous for its beauty.... and cats?

We ate lunch, watched the surfers, and let Em get muddy playing in the sand.

When we arrived in Barcelona, we met up with Jay's friends, Mark and Tricia Struk. Their little 2 year-old Eve was Emmilene's IBFF.
