Christmas is Coming, the Goose is Getting Fat

We have been sick and in quarantine the last 7 days with pink-eye, ear-infections, and some mean viruses, but we did do some Christmas activities before the diseases hit.

Macy's Santaland and windows:
(do I have a halo?)

(Jay took about 15 of these pictures... either he liked the reflection, or he figures it is the only time we will see bricks of gold).

You can tell it was a fun experience since they looked like this on the way home:

And we are much better now. In fact, today is the day for us to go out and enjoy some more of this magical holiday. Hope you are doing the same, without antibiotics.

Holiday's

This isn't actually about the current holiday season, just a catch up of the last few celebrations around here so we can say something about Christmas.

In May we went on a sorta holiday trip to Utah/Idaho. It was for my grandmother's funeral, but we stayed a couple weeks and did a lot of fun things with neglected family, like try on hats, climb trees, and yoga. The kids loved the open spaces.

And there was a little too much Kung-Foo watching...

In June, Emmi had a Pirate Princess Third Birthday...

Robert had combined pool party with my co-workers son complete with ice cream cart (Emmi took full advantage of this) ...

We had a Hurricaine Irene Party where friends came and helped with flood clean-up in our basement...

Jay had a birthday in which we went to the Met Opera and our awesome (free) babysitters not only looked through ALL of our photo albums with glee, but selected their favorite photos to pay tribute to Jay in a shrine on our door.

For Halloween, Emmi was Rapunzel (or "Tangled" as she called herself) and Robbie was supposed to be Pascal the Chameloen, although the closest we could find was a dragon...
Oh, and we had our only (huge) snowstorm so far.

I had a birthday complete with "Princess cake" (Emmi insisted), sick children, and a surprise visit from friends...

And for Thanksgiving we hosted some families from our neighborhood as well as my Uncle and Aunt and daughters. We had 18 people, including kids, which filled up our humble home, but it was fun!
