Chicago

While Jay was out hiking the Appalachians with the Scouts, we took the week to visit Scott and Sue Ann and kids. It was our first time to Chicago, and they were great tour guides.
The deep-dish pizza was awesome!

Buckingham Fountain

Strange Chinese Art

Giant Jelly Bean

Famous spitting faces (I am sure there is an official name...)

Thanks for a great week!

Salmon Bonding Time

In July we had a visit from Jay's parents and Alita. It is a shame this is the only picture I got of all three of them.

We went lots of fun places...

Central Park Zoo

The Toy Store

MOMA (Museum of Modern Art)

Broadway

And they taught Emmi about shoes and faces...

Trana

"Trana" is how the natives say the word, "Toronto". We spent just a couple days here trying to see as much as we could at the leisurely pace of a one year-old.

We visited Casa Loma, the gigantic and ostentatious estate of a prominent Canadian military man, Sir Henry Pellatt. He built it in 1911 and didn't live there long before financial ruin turned him out on his tuckus.

Chinatown, where Emmilene mastered chop sticks (kinda).

The most visible (and olfactory) evidence of the strike:

We visited the Ontario Science Center, where the children's floor was rockin'!

Emmi is a ruthless shopper.... get out of her way, or she will take you out!

The coolest thing there was a machine that took your picture, and then formed it out of BUBBLES as they float up in small pipes.

This is as close as we got to the Riverdale Farm. Dang that strike!

We did venture up the CN Tower.
