Food Glorious Food!

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday's, I forgot to mention Emmilene is eating solid foods. We started with rice cereal on her 6 month birthday, and have now expanded to several different fruits and veggies.

This is a typical reaction when she tries a new food...

Finally we got her a high chair!

But now she refuses to eat!

A Frosty New Year's Eve

December 31st was cold here in NYC.
We decided to go check out the people lining up in Times Square since we live so close. We left about 7:30 pm dressed like snowmen and soon we found ourselves swept up in a crowd headed as close as possible to the ball and TV cameras.

We got as far as 55th street, and had a nice little spot under the heating lamps at the above hotel. But around 8:30, we realized 3.5 hours in 15 degrees with a little babe and anxious crowd didn't sound so fun, so we snapped a couple pictures and made our way home. Yes, we are wimps.

We drank hot chocolate, watched movies, and switched just in time to see the ball drop (was is just me, or was the show really lame this year?). With a little kiss from the two I love, and Hooray for 2009!

On New Year's Day, we finally finished opening our Christmas presents!

Many people say 2008 was a bad year and they are glad to see it end. I had a great 2008, mostly for one big reason...

Have a happy and prosperous and healthy and joyous and thankful New Year!

More Christmas

We had so much fun at Christmas that we are going to post more pictures, even if it is the middle of January.

Learning new tricks...

I'll Be Home For Christmas

That is what I kept singing to myself during the long flights home.  Our travel time turned much longer thanks to fresh snow, canceled flights, and plane de-icing problems, but we made it safely which is all that counts.

Emmilene met some important people on this trip to my parents home in Idaho.  She was at ease immediately with her Great-Grandpa Nelson and Great-Grandma Maddox.

Grandma and Grandpa came to get us even though it was their anniversary.  They brought along Emmi's cousin Lillian, who is exactly 2 months younger, and less feisty than Em..
Lillian didn't always know how to react to all the love Em was sharing.

Em had a blast learning new tricks from her uncles and aunts.

Even her youngest uncle Anders helped to comb her hair, and taught her to make silly faces.

The best part was having 8 days together with Daddy.

Emmilene was so excited for her first Christmas, especialy since there are so many fun things to do in NYC.

We went to see the miniature trains at Citigroup.

The Tree at Rock Center and the ice skaters circling below.

And more festive windows at Saks.  They were all a little silly this year, but impressive in the design.  Since when is a caveman part of Christmas?

And of corse we got all dressed up for Holiday Parties.  For some reason this is the only picture we took, Emmi with one of my co-workers.
