HB, LMS

All day today, Emmilene has had one thing on her mind.

It all started when she woke up this morning.

And she was distracted while reading the morning news.

She forgot to think about it while she was entertaining her friend, Gabriel.

As soon as he left, though, she had a hard time concentrating on driving.

And at the close of the day as she did one more check of her stocks, she still thought and thought about it.

While jogging in the park, she kept wishing she could say one thing...

and it was...

Hope it was a good day for you, Grandma Salmon!

Blue-Eyed Moe

A couple weekends ago, we went to a street fair near our apartment.  We always walk through these on fast Sundays, so it being a saturday, we decided to have a treat.  Emmilene, like any kid, wanted every street-fair-food she layed eyes on.

See, she's even drooling.

ok, she's not... but she usually is.

We also walked along the East river after church. We don't spend a lot of time on the East side, because it could ruin our reputation.
But as far as we know, no one saw us.

The bright sun helped Emmi discover her feet.
(She re-discovers them weekly, but it is always exciting).

We coudn't tell if this woman was for real, or practicing for Halloween.
Jay pretended to get a pic of us in order to not arouse her suspicions that the paparazzi had found her.

You may be able to see the buds of two little teeth trying to come out.

The Old and Young

Fall brings birthdays in our little family.  Jay celebrated his on the 30th of Sept, and mine is coming up too soon.

Emmilene seems to want a party around the sixth of every month.

Instead of going out to eat this year, Jay agreed to let me make him anything he wanted.
Salmon, scalloped potatoes, baked asparagus, and corn on the cob, along with pina colada (minus the colada, if you know what I mean).

After dinner, we went to a movie of Jay's choice.  Yep--all three of us, and it was no romantic comedy -- so it was loud.  I never payed attention to how loud movies are.  But Emmi actually slept through 87% of it.

Poor little girl didn't get any cake.
So she was looking forward to ice cream on her 4 month birthday...

But Daddy ate it all.

She forgave and forgot (the great thing about kids) and is still her happy little pink self!

Part II

What a beautiful bride Rachel made!

The view was amazing.

Rach and Chuck made blackberry jam for all their guests...
a lot of work for them, but yum for us.

After the BBQ dinner, there was a good old-fashioned barn dance reception. Emmi and I didn't get to dance (since one of us was asleep), but we did watch all the fun.

The bluegrass band was good, but no "KJ and the Miners".
Not even a washboard to be seen!

On the flight back, Emmilene got a chance to meet her favorite aunt Sonja in a layover in SLC.
She gave her a big kiss.

And we finally got home to a lonely daddy...

Thanks Rach for spending so much time with us and throwing a great party!
