Espana!

We just got back from a little trip to beautiful Spain.  We flew into Madrid overnight and once we arrived, immediately rented a car and headed south.  Near the airport, we passed an important landmark.

On our way to our hotel on the southern coast, we drove through some magnificent towns and stopped to get some pictures.

Toledo was our first stop -- it has this amazing fortress on the hilltop with castle wall,  cathedrals and an ancient Muslim Mosque.  To get in we had to identify the origin of a sparrow.

Toledo is known for its swords.  I guess Jay is not King  because he couldn't pull it out of the rack.

We waned to take pictures of everything while driving through the countryside... lovely windmills and rows and rows of olive trees.  All the towns are white buildings surrounding old churches and sometimes castles.

These pictures were shot from the car and don't do justice, but when you have a sleeping baby, sometimes you just can't stop.

We didn't make it to Cordova until quite late since we were unexpectedly caught GPS-less, but it was beautiful by lamplight.

(Spain does not have street signs, by the way).

We finally made it to our little resort late late that night in Mijas, but we were too tired to snap photos.
